REPUBLIC DAY

The democratic nation of India unites to marks its  69th  Republic  Day  a day of pride for all countrymen. While most of us associate this day with the grand Republic Day parade since years, the day is a lot more than just that. "Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom" With his famous 'Tryst with Destiny' speech, which Pt.  Jawaharlal Nehru   delivered to the Indian  Constituent Assembly  on the eve of India's Independence, the first Prime Minister of the independent country welcomed the freedom that every Indian had earned after a long struggle of independence.
